Between the Sea and the Finish Line: Quarteira in Triathlon Mode

On March 28 and 29, 2026, the city of Quarteira once again becomes the stage for one of the most emblematic events on the national sporting calendar: the XXIV Triatlo Internacional de Quarteira – Prof. Carlos Gravata.

Over the course of two days, more than 800 athletes take on the classic triathlon challenge, combining a swim in the Atlantic waters, a cycling course along the seafront avenue, and a run through the city’s vibrant streets. On Saturday, March 28, the Olympic-distance races take place; on Sunday, March 29, junior categories and other competitions step into the spotlight, bringing renewed energy and the promise of emerging talent.

More than just a competition, this event is a tribute to Carlos Gravata, a prominent figure in the history of Portuguese triathlon whose legacy continues to live on with every edition.
