Flights Return to The Algarve

2020.06.27

In the last few days, it was possible to see an intensification of flights from several foreign airlines to Faro International Airport.

During this week there was a resumption of flights by airlines, from:

- Dublin, Stansted, Manchester, Porto and Brussels (Ryanair);

- Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Paris, Montpellier, Lyon and Nantes (Transavia);

- Dusseldorf, Stuttgart, Cologne and Hamburg (Eurowings).

As of July 1st, Ryanair will reestablish 37 routes to and from Faro as part of its summer schedule, six more connections than originally planned. To celebrate the lifting of restrictions, this airline launched a discount campaign for those who plan to travel until the end of September of this current year.

More flights are scheduled to the beginning of next month, with Air France linking Faro to Paris and British Airways and Jet 2 resuming flights from all its UK bases.

May saw the return of flights to Faro Airport with routes operated by Brussels Airlines, TUI Belgium, Volotea, Wizzair, Easyjet, TUI Germany, Lufthansa, SWISS and Luxair.

With the resumption of flights, "all security measures will continue to be ensured to better receive national and international tourists. The recommendations set out by the Manual of Good Practices: 'Algarve Clean & Safe' are being implemented, always in line with what was stipulated by the Health Authorities. In addition, Faro International Airport is implementing basic measures to welcome passengers, such as temperature measurement, the reinforcement of signs indicating social distance awareness and information on the use of masks and protections at all service counters.” confirmed João Fernandes, President of the Algarve Tourism Region.

Portugal, will not impose any type of quarantine on travellers and the Algarve is very well prepared to receive you.
